Dr. Eric Nichols, PT, DPT, TPI-C, Cert DN
Eric has a distinguished career in sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation.
He has played a pivotal role in founding both baseball and golf medicine programs, showcasing his expertise in sports-related injuries, performance and recovery. His experience includes working with athletes from the MLB, PGA Tour, and LIV Tour, highlighting his ability to cater to high-performance professionals.
Board certified in dry needling and holding a Titleist Performance Institute Medical Level II certification, Eric continues to advance his knowledge in orthopedic injuries, injury prevention, and return-to-sport training. His educational background includes a degree in Exercise and Health Science from Kennesaw State University and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine.
Eric's blend of professional expertise and personal passion makes him a highly respected figure in the field of physical therapy and sports medicine.
Lloyd Van Pamelen, PT, CSCS
Lloyd has over 30 years of experience in sports medicine and orthopedic rehabilitation. He hopes to treat and rehabilitate clients of nearly every orthopedic diagnosis and get folks back to their normal “quality of life.”
Lloyd has been blessed to have unique experiences in his career, especially as related to baseball. He has presented at both community and professional seminars over the years, with 11 years with the Atlanta Braves. He has been equally grateful for the privilege of returning Little Leaguers, future Hall of Famers, and hundreds of ballplayers back to the “yard.” Lloyd ,the first PT ever hired by the Atlanta Braves, works for Georgia Tech Baseball during the times he is not at Movement Medicine.
Dr. Scott Kramer, PT, DPT, SCS
Scott is an Atlanta native who received his BS in exercise science from Georgia State University and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Brenau University. He has an experienced background treating orthopedic and sports medicine related injuries, particularly in overhead athletes. Scott is recognized as a Board Certified Sports Clinical Specialist with experience treating athletes at all levels of competition. Scott strives to build trust through a personalized approach with each patient, and to get them back playing the sports they love. Through this collaborative approach, he focuses on both injury treatment and injury prevention.
Dr. Cal Lawanson, PT, DPT
Cal was born and raised in London, England. He settled in Kansas City, Missouri in 2012 and went on to attend the University of Missouri – Columbia where he ran Track and played Soccer. In 2018, he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and continued his education there to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2021.
Cal has a high commitment to innovation and evidence-based rehabilitative practices that produce the best treatment outcomes. This dedication has led him to indulge in research opportunities where he has had the opportunity to present projects on a national stage, including the 2020 National Strength and Conditioning Association conference and the 2020 American Physical Therapy Associations Combined Sections Meeting where he was nominated for Best Orthopedics Poster award.
Cal enjoys working with athletes of all ages. Whether it is to prevent injury or help them return to sport and daily life, he makes sure every session is fun and productive.
In his spare time, Cal enjoys soccer, the outdoors, traveling, cooking, reading and exploring his creative side through multiple mediums.
Dr. Kyle Shumeyko, PT, DPT
Kyle is an Atlanta native who grew up in Suwanee, Georgia. He got his bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science from the University of Georgia, and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Georgia State University. He recently completed a PT residency program in sports specialization, and will sit for his boards exam to obtain his SCS in 2025. He is also dry-needling certified.
Along with Movement Medicine PT, Kyle also works as a sports physical therapist at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Here, he has gained experience treating a wide variety of pediatric and adolescent sports-related injuries, and has performed research on upper extremity functional testing. As a former baseball player and swimmer, he has a particular interest in the overhead athlete and has skills in performing motion analysis for the throwing athlete.
